Privacy notice
Last updated 28 October 2026.
This notice explains what personal information we collect when you enquire about, book or rent a container from us, what we use it for, and your rights.
Who we are
Spacemate Storage, Patches Farm, Galley Hill Road, Waltham Abbey EN9 2AG, is the controller of your personal information. You can reach us at info@spacematestorage.co.uk or on 07929 878970.
What we collect
- Your contact details: name, address, phone number and email address.
- Your rental: which container you rent, your start and end dates, your signed agreement, and notes about access and move-out checks.
- Payments: your rent, deposit and invoice history. Card and bank details are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see your full card number.
- Messages: what you tell us by phone, email or WhatsApp.
- CCTV: the yard has CCTV for security, so you may be recorded when you visit.
What we use it for, and why we're allowed to
- To answer your enquiry and take your booking, because you asked us to.
- To run your rental: your agreement, access, invoices, payments and your deposit refund. This is needed for our contract with you.
- To keep accounting and tax records, because the law requires it.
- To keep the yard and its contents safe with CCTV, which is in our legitimate interest and yours.
We don't send marketing without asking you first, and we never sell your information.
Who we share it with
- Storeganise, our booking and storage management system, which holds your account and agreement.
- Stripe, which takes card payments.
- Microsoft, which runs our email.
- Vercel, which hosts this website and runs its visitor statistics.
- Our accountant, and the police or our insurer if there's an incident at the yard.
Some of these companies may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you rent from us, then for 6 years after your rental ends for accounting and legal claims. CCTV recordings are kept for 30 days, unless they're needed for longer to deal with an incident, such as a theft or an insurance claim.
This website
This website sets no cookies. To see how many people visit and how they found us, we use Vercel Web Analytics. For each page you view it records the page, the website that sent you here, your rough location (country, region and town), and your browser, operating system and type of device. It doesn't record your name, your IP address or anything else that identifies you, and it doesn't follow you to other websites. Repeat visits on the same day are counted using a code worked out from your visit, which is deleted after 24 hours. We use these totals because it's in our legitimate interest to understand how the website is used.
When you press Book, you move to our booking page on Storeganise, which has its own privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop or limit how we use it. Email info@spacematestorage.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
